I was asked by a recent client what to do with a broken intrusive fireplace removed from their main living space wall. The owners didn’t just want to “patch it”-they wanted to build a wood wall to have as an accent. SO-this was a fun but Challenging project as the home didn't have a clear design. As I often do in these situations, I looked online for some options for the owners to choose from, and fortunately they selected their great inspiration picture. After a lot of back and forth, it was decided to do the wood wall, shiplap style but angled from the center in a medium gray color (Tin Lizzy -Sherwin Williams). the wall also couldn’t go to the top because the angle of the ceiling was not centered to the center of the wall...but despite all of these challenges, the wall came together and transformed their ordinary living room into a cool, modern destination space for the whole family!
